Join us for a hands-on ceramic workshop where we’ll make our own ceramic travel mugs perfect for coffee on the go, morning tea, or slow walks with something warm in hand. You’ll learn how to hand-build a mug from clay slabs and shape it into a form that feels good to hold. We’ll also talk about simple surface textures and details that make each mug unique.
No prior experience with clay is needed—this workshop is open to beginners and anyone curious about working with their hands.
What’s Included:
2 lbs of stoneware clay
Access to tool kits, working boards and turntables
Selection of available studio glazes
Both bisque and glaze firings
How to PreparePlease make sure you are wearing clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Because you will be working with your hands, It’s best to wear a shirt that is short sleeves or easily able to roll up. You will be using wet sponges and other tools that might interfere with long sleeves.Picking up workPlease allow 2-3 weeks for finished and glazed pieces. Once your pieces have made it out of the last firing you will be notified to pick up. Drying time is dependent on the temperatures and humidity in our studio spaces, that first week after the workshop is a bit flexible as we wait for your work to dry. Cancellation and Refund PolicyFull refunds are available up to one week before the start day of your class. Each week we take time to prepare materials, tools and the studio for our community workshops. If for some reason you do not cancel your spot within the cancellation window we are happy to rebook your spot to one of our future workshops, there is an additional €10 rebooking feel.Number of ParticipantsThe workshop will be held in a small group of eight participants unless we are set up in the larger workshop space for the week. Classes will be held regardless of full status or not. In other words, if only two people register, the workshop will still take place.
