What to bring?

A water bottle.

Students can bring a small snack, if needed.  But we ask that they eat something before the workshop as food is not provided during camp.

A yellow smiling face with two pink eyes and a pink curved smile.

What to wear?

Clay is washable, but it’s best to wear clothes that are okay to get a little dirty. Especially on paint days (every friday.) It’s best to wear a short sleeve shirt since our hands will be near wet buckets. Students can bring an oversized shirt to wear over clothes or use an apron available in the studio.

Sample Class Format

  • Students will get checked in and introduced to the studio space.

  • Students are introduced to the day’s project and theme. We'll do a short creative warm-up activity—such as a quick sketch, clay doodle, or group brainstorm that is designed to activate imagination and curiosity. We'll also go over tool use, studio etiquette, and material safety.

I will provide a step-by-step demo of the day’s project. This will include a variety of techniques: pinch, coil, slab, creating texture and molding details.

  • Students dive into their clay projects with guided support. They are encouraged to sketch, plan, and problem-solve along the way. Individual guidance will help support each student in bringing their vision to life while reinforcing skills and confidence.

There may be a chance student’s aren’t interested in the projects we are making. They are always welcome to create whatever they want – this time is meant let them have the opportunity to explore something new.

  • We’ll share and reflect what we made, ask questions and share highlights from the lesson. Group clean: students will sign and wrap their pieces, return tools to their kits, this helps build good studio habits and respect for shared materials.

  • Students will gather belongings and wait for pick up.

Drop In Days

Instead of a full week of camp we offer drop in days on Monday and Wednesday. Drop in days do not include customization with painting. Students will still be able to choose to have their pieces finished in a glossy or matte clear glaze.

Stylized text that says 'F*CK'S' in pink on a black background.

When will our kids projects be ready for pick up?

After class their pieces need about 1 week to dry out completely. Once the pieces are dry they will get loaded into the kiln for their first firing or Bisque fire. This step takes about 2 days. After the bisque firing each pieces will be glazed with either a clear matte or gloss glaze and then loaded into the kiln for it’s final fire or Glaze fire. This step takes about 3 days. Once the kiln is unloaded I will email you so we can schedule a time for pick up.
